1.  The first school just for nursing was established in 250 B.C., but back then only men were allowed to attend the school because they were deemed purer than the women.
2. Nursing is consistently named one of the top most trusting professions. In fact, 85% of the surveyed population viewed them as ethical and honest.
3. In 1862, The New England Hospital for Women and Children became the first nursing school in the United States.
4. Nursing is a broad term because there are actually 100 nursing professions that you can choose from. These ranges from clinical and family to management and surgical.
5. The average nurse walks between four and five miles a day and that’s only counting their 12 hour shift! The average American only walks 2.5 to 3 miles a day.
6. There are MILLIONS of nurses in the United States, with the workforce expected to grow.
7. Nursing practices are actually pretty universal across the globe.
8. Not all nurses work in hospitals. In fact, only 3 out of 5 nurses work in hospitals. Other possible locations are in schools, medical offices, and academia.
