Telehealth Modality
In response to the o the growing use of telehealth as an evidence-backed option for behavioral health diagnosis and treatment, the NCQA released the Telehealth for Behavioral Health Measures. This is based on the idea that providers and plans can leverage technologies to bring better care to their patients. The NCQA determined that telehealth is an efficient and effective way of delivering health care. It has increasingly become widely reimbursed by health plans, states and CMS.
Excluding Members in Institutional Care Settings
Taking age into consideration, the NCQA excluded Medicare members enrolled in Institutional Special Needs Plans or those in long-term institutional care environments from colorectal cancer screening, breast cancer screening, controlling high blood pressure, and osteoporosis management in women who had a fracture.
